Arrest Made In Vernon Burglaries





The Vernon Township Police Detective Bureau conducted a lengthy investigation into Mr. Delaney and they linked him to five (5) of the residential burglaries committed over the last several months within Vernon Township.

On Thursday, 02/09/2012, probable cause for the arrest of Mr. Delaney had been established and Vernon Township Municipal Court Judge James Devine was contacted and authorized the issuance of a warrant for Mr. Delaney’s arrest.

At approximately 1430hrs on 02/09/2012, the Vernon Township Police Department along with the assistance of the Hardyston Police Department located Mr. Delaney operating his 1992 Chevy S-10 pickup truck and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Mr. Delaney was taken into custody without incident and transported to Vernon Township Police Headquarters.

Judge James Devine was again contacted and bail was set in the amount of $100,000 without a 10% option. Mr. Delaney was transported to the Sussex County Jail and held on bail.

Mr. Delaney was charged with five (5) counts of Burglary and five (5) counts of theft.
