ZOOMing in on some needed truth…

“God bless you, keep up the good work. I wish more people in my area (northern California, left coast), was as motivated and dedicated as you are to stand up and do the right thing. You and Vernon give us hope for our small town. So many people in this area are so used to going along with the bullying herd of liberals they don’t think they can make a difference. Your story shows that we can. One person, one family, one town at a time. Thank you.” – Tom from California.

With all the recent buzz of the Glenn Beck show, Vernon Township’s historic and respected change of government, and how The Revered Review falls into this mix, I feel it is time to speak up.

As I have said repeatedly (though continually misquoted), the full credit of the current state of Vernon’s government goes to the petitioners who started the process and the overwhelming number of residents who voted for the change.

In my opinion, The Revered Review did not make that change, however it allowed the change to have a voice, to be recognized, spotlighted, and thus put on the map.

Vernon has become a blueprint for towns and cities across the nation, and for that, it should be commended. The proof is in the emails, of which there are thousands.

Vernon’s change of government was truly a grassroots effort, as was the birth of The Revered Review. It is here that the two stories collide.

With Beck’s words pounding in my ear, I will say this proudly and wear it as a badge I was fired from AIM newspapers. Why I was fired, the world may never truly know, though many may speculate.  However, I believe it was with political purpose. I also believe that it wouldn’t have mattered about WHOM I wrote. The outcome would have still been the same.

In hindsight, I know now, that I was just a political pawn, who was railroaded into a journalistic ambush.

Upon starting my coverage of Vernon five years ago, I was under the wing of a liberal media source and driven by liberal “supporters.” Being ignorant to politics, I was unaware that I was actually being co-opted by the paper I worked for and by those who praised me and claimed to be “feeding me the truth.”

“The Article”

I don’t take back the intent of my bullying article, which was to protect those who I thought were being bullied. I do however realize that I was being duped, and some of those who I thought were the victims are perhaps, in my opinion, actually the real bullies, and for that, I am sorry.

Ironically, it was this mistake and political immaturity that has brought me to where I am today and to why TRR was started… to bring truth and nothing but truth, so help me God.

It is also from this experience I have learned to see past the surface “truths” and facts, to dig deeper, and as Paul Harvey said, discover “the rest of the story.”

The Revered Review will be like no other media, as it will tell the whole story. There will be no fluff, no agenda nor cover-ups. The shackles are off, my friends! I am free to speak and write the truth.

Through this process, I have seen the true bullies. The forums are still raging with personal attacks and lies and I still will not stand for that. Perhaps it is time for a second bullying story to be told. This time, with the full truth. Stay tuned…

Be Bold, Stay Brave, Live Honestly,

Jessica
